One of my best friends, Lito, got married in London last September. Some people would make a distinction between that and a civil union between two men but I don't. There really shouldn't be any.
If and when you read this, dear Lito, I want you to know how much I appreciate you being there for me; truly one of the few people in this world I can rely on.
